The Link Road and Shimpoli corridor is the opposite: newer towers with fewer wall cracks, but shared service ducts through which bed bugs move between adjoining flats. Gorai adds a large stock of rented and shared accommodation, where furniture changes hands often and travels with it.

A denser mix of chawl-type housing, older colonies and gated complexes, often on the same road. The low-rise stock has shared walls, exposed conduits and timber fittings, giving bed bugs far more harbourage points than a newer flat.
These jobs need patient inspection rather than speed. The bugs are rarely all in one room, and the wall a bed is pushed against usually matters more than the bed itself.

Most Borivali households that call us have already sprayed — themselves, or through a pest control visit. It works for about a week each time, and then the bites come back.
Nothing was wrong with the chemical. Spray kills the bed bugs a technician can see, but it cannot get inside a fabric seam where an egg is glued to the stitching, and that egg hatches one to two weeks later. Repeating the same spray a third time does not change that. The adults die each time; the eggs do not.
Heat covers the gap. Sustained contact with 100°C steam breaks down eggs and live bugs on the spot, and dry thermal steam carries very little moisture, so it is used directly on mattresses, headboards and wooden furniture rather than soaking them. The residual spray then handles the cracks, skirting and switchplate edges where steam cannot reach or stay. Neither method is enough alone, which is why every treatment uses both and is followed by a visit at 15 days.
Check five things with a torch. Small dark spots the size of a pen dot along the mattress seams, rust-coloured smears on the bedsheet, pale shed skins near the stitching, live reddish-brown insects about the size of an apple seed, and a sweet musty smell in a closed room.

In buildings with shared walls and service ducts, treating one flat while the neighbouring flat stays untreated is one of the most common reasons an infestation comes back. If we see that pattern we will say so, even though it means recommending a coordinated society treatment rather than a single flat.
Usually not. In most cases the mattress and bed can be treated and kept, because dry thermal steam carries very little moisture and is used directly on seams, piping and frame joints. Dragging an infested mattress out through the building also spreads bugs along the way.
The 100°C thermal steam stage uses no chemicals at all. The residual spray is a CIB-approved low-odour formulation applied into cracks and crevices rather than on open surfaces. Everyone should stay out of the rooms while work is in progress, and go back in after the surfaces have dried and the rooms have been ventilated.
No. Bed bugs are not known to transmit disease. They cause bites, itching, disturbed sleep and considerable stress, which is reason enough to treat an infestation promptly.
Usually not. Eggs hidden in wall voids, behind fixed headboards or in an adjoining room can survive the first visit and hatch afterwards, which is why the follow-up at 15 days is included in the price rather than charged separately.
